Section Overview

This section is headed by the Assistant Registrar, Transport and Garage, who also heads the Transport Operations Section and Motor Vehicle Maintenance Section. The administrative functions carried out by the Assistant Registrar include and not limited to:


The Assistant Registar is involved in the short and long term planning function for the department. This will include the developing of departmental strategic plan and ensuring that it is implemented. He also is the team leader of the departmental Perfomance Contracting Team that ensures quarterly targets set by the department are met within the set timeframes.


The Assistant Registrar is tasked with the responsibility of ensuring a coordinated effort among all staff members within the department towards meeting departmental goals and objectives.


Staffing is key to any organisation/ and department being able to meet its goals and objectives. The Asssistant Registrar is involved in  determining staffing needs, writing job descriptions, recruiting and screening people to fill the positions.


Resource allocation is key to ensuring the department meets it's goals and objectives. The Assistant Registrar ensures resources, both financial and personnel are directed to meeting the goals and objectives set by the department. He also ensures that quality services as per are offered by the department at all times.
